A great night out should be more than a few drinks. We’re bringing back hospitality: carefully curated cocktails, live music and shows, and a lounge built around you, whether you’re unwinding after work or out with friends.
Our roots are in the roaring ’20s and the 1890 Osborn Building on SE Grand. Our service and craft are built for today.

Club Lore
Rose City history with a dash of mystery.
Told the way it’s told at the bar. Some of it is history; some of it is legend. We’ll let you decide which is which.
In 1890 a sky-scraping (three-story) building rose at SE Grand Avenue & Ash Street, home to the Osborn Hotel, an elegant beauty on the bustling east-side trolley line. It served wealthy travelers, then soldiers during WWI. In early 1917 a fire burned it nearly to the foundation. Fortunately for us, the owners rebuilt it, even nicer than before.
About then, a young and secretly “family-connected” entrepreneur named Anthony Vincenzo Bellini arrived from New York City. Everyone called him “Little Anthony” for his 5′4″ stature, though rarely to his face. Back home he’d “sold off” his bar and restaurant to the mob, partly to settle gambling debts, and needed to leave town fast. Oregon would be his westward gold rush.
What Bellini didn’t realize: Oregon had started its own liquor ban in 1916, four years before national Prohibition. Opening a bar looked impossible. At least at first glance.
Drawn to the rebuilt Osborn like a moth, Anthony leaned on the owner with an idea from James “Birdlegs” Reed, a train conductor turned speakeasy owner who advised him on the “right” way to run one. Anthony supplied the hotel with quality food, drink and hospitality goods at the “family rate,” and in return the basement became a speakeasy. Thus the original Rose City Social Club was formed.
We proudly carry on the tradition. Just don’t tell anyone the secret, unless you can vouch for them.
